Design Challenge
For over 70 years, Macy's has collaborated with local nursery partners to bring vibrant live plants and flowers into their stores, transforming them into themed garden displays. Each year, Macy's also partners with FIDM San Francisco students to design creative mannequin displays for the Flower Show.
The 2019 show, Journey to Paradisios, took visitors on a fantastical adventure of exploration, discovery, and space travel, blending floral artistry with a dreamlike landscape.
For this year's challenge, we are tasked with working in pairs to create a display that embodies the spirit of the story. The final design must incorporate a mannequin, be colorful, and be transportable. Additionally, all materials and supplies must be sourced from reused or repurposed items, emphasizing sustainability and creativity in the process.
